[Our Student Council threw a dinner party for our local Senior Citizen Center during the week of Christmas. Beforehand we put together a skit and rehearsed Christmas carols for the entertainment. We served our guests a beautiful turkey dinner with all the trimmings and then entertained them with our skit and Christmas carols. Before long we had all our guests singing along with us.]</p>

<p>Community Reading:
[Each year our elementary school hosts an annual Community Reading Day. I was selected to pick a book and read to a class of children during the school day.] </p>

<p>Coffee House:
[Our high school hosts an annual Coffee House thrown by a school staff member and a small circle of students. I assisted in set up and break down of the event and I also assisted the Mcee in getting bands ready to perform.]</p>

<p>Mock Car Accident:
[Every year during the week before prom, a group of kids, including myself, joined forces with the local police station and fire station staff to create a lifelike car accident in the student parking lot to help spread awareness of what happens when you drink and drive.]</p>

<p>Big Brother/Big Sister Program:
[Linked with our Peer Counseling program at the high school, a selected group of high school students are paired with a student from our middle school in request for a mentor. We sit with our little brother or sister once a week to talk about their issues in school or outside of school. We help them feel comfortable with themselves along with helping them through the difficult times in their life.]</p>

<p>Now, I’m from Mass. and I feel it make influence my acceptance to the California colleges. So… I’m nervous.</p>

<p>Based on what I’ve told you, do you think my acceptance to these schools are Yay or Nay? Which ones? And if you could tell me, why? </p>

<p>My Essay is great. Proof read by my English teacher a million times, and he LOVES it. </p>

<p>So… What do you think my chances are? I’m hesitant to send them, haha.</p>

<p>goucher might be a bit of a reach; I’m not positive about that though</p>

<p>I decided not to mail out U.of the Pacific, U of San Fran, and Dominican. I replaced them with McDaniel College and U. of Maine… LOL Man, last minute changes…</p>

<p>I think you stand a good chance at all of those colleges, except I’m not so sure about Goucher. Good luck and best wishes at the college you choose!</p>
