I’m not sure if I want to take ED11B immediately form 11A next fall or hold it off until spring (I’m an L. Arch major, so I don’t start fulfilling major requirements until junior year). All I know is that there is a track taught by all L. Arch professors (1 -> 11A -> 11B; Jewell -> Sullivan -> Hood) and a track taught by all Arch professors (1 -> 11A -> 11B; De Moncheaux -> Guiterrez -> Plymale), so it’s natural I follow up taking 11B with Hood, but does anyone know the differences between the two professors?

I took ED 11B with Walter Hood last year, and I learned more from him in a semester than I can say in my last 2 years in architecture combined. That said, be prepared to work harder than you’ve ever had in your entire life.

If you want an easier professor, take Plymale, but 11B with Hood was the hardest class I’ve ever taken at Berkeley, so it’s basically awesome/hard vs. easy. It really depends on your semester.

Question:

Even if you’re an architecture major, would you say taking it with Hood is still that worthwhile?

Or is it a disadvantage in the long run?
