Is there a reliable website that discusses what kinds of careers you can have if you major in either of these fields and also what the future job prospects are?

Isn’t chemical engineering just focused mostly on the oil and gas industry?

Historically yes. In recent times, chemical engineering employment has become far more diverse. For example, a large fraction of chemical engineers work in the semiconductor industry in manufacturing microchips. Furthermore, arguably the most common engineering degree that the biotechnology industry seeks is a ChemE degree.

However, it is still true that ChemE employment and salaries are still largely driven by the oil/gas/petrochemical industry.
