Environmental science

What are the best colleges in the U.S. for environmental science? I am more interested in working with wildlife, national parks, or conservation rather than cleaning water or the air. I’m looking for a college that will help me to get a job.

Duke is the first school that comes to mind. I’ll have to do some searching and get back to you.

NC State University
[Department of Forestry and Environmental Resources](Forestry and Environmental Resources)

Look at just about any state land grant school. ‘Prestige’ of the school matters little in that field but getting great experiences as an undegrad is most important. I would choose a school near a location where you would like to live.

My brother has a degree in fish and wildlife biology. He spent his summers as a college student doing research/work in Iowa, Utah, Colorado, and California. Since then he has worked all over the country in various conservation/wildlife/park type jobs.

Typical majors to look at include fish and wildlife biology, natural resource restoration and managment, forestry, and a host of other names. I doubt that environmental science as a major is what you are looking for.
