Environmental Studies at NYU

I recently went on a tour at NYU. The tour was horrible, which was disappointing because I love the school so much.

How is the Environmental Studies program? If you major in it, will there be enough resources, support and facilities? I understand that all programs will have internships possibilities because NYU is in New York City.

Also, NYU is known for its study abroad programs. What locations are known for a focus on anything relating to Environmental Science.

I’m considering majors in Political Science, Women’s Studies, and History. If you can tie any of these majors in with Environmental Studies, it would be much appreciated.

Thank you!

European countries are doing well in environmental-friendly policy
i think London might be a good place
becoz they suffer thick fog after industrial revolution
u can also go to countries next to Rhine River, like Germany
and study how they solved the pollution in Rhine River
its a very famous case

if u go to heavily polluted countries, esp the emerging countries, like China
u can witness how serious pollution is…
but the ways to change it…
there are some…but not dat much compare to the European countries

the only subject that i can relate to is political science
environmental policy is a major area in ES
i think there are colleges that offer BS or MS in Envir Policy
these are the best 10 ES colleges in the country
note that #2 is a SUNY
and it ranks pretty high in general as well

but…is NYU a good school in ES?
i dont really know abt that
u can determine dat by how big the department is
and how many programs do they offer

And, if u are really interested in this area
u should pick colleges that focus on “sustainability”
countries now tend to focus on sustainable development

Am I the only one who finds it ironic that someone who can’t and/or does not use proper grammatical structure or anything close it and who cannot or does not wish to spell things anywhere near to correct, is giving advice on college? Hmmm…

Anyway,
the above post is incorrect such that a size of a department has nothing to do with how good it is.

Also, you stated that you’re interested in politics as a potential major? Just note that at NYU politics is mathematically based, rather than theory based. So you work with game theory, statistics, etc.

I have to admit that I was too lazy to correct my spelling and gramma
I apologize for that…
However, the size of department matters A LOT,
for example: the ratio of faculty to student, programs offered,
internship, study group, etc.
The size of the department is determined by how many resources it get
