Enzyme carpet cleaner?

Our elderly pooch struggles sometimes to get outside - so we have had accidents on the carpets. I had them professionally cleaned about a month ago and am still getting whiffs of the smell, so last night I got out the black light. Holy cow. I have work to do! Any suggestions for a brand carpet cleaner that REALLY works? I do have a home carpet shampooer to use, I’m thinking of getting something to soak in and then shampoo it up. What have you had the BEST luck with?

Is this wall to wall carpeting?

Naure’s Miracle definitely works.

We have also found that Resolve Pet Expert works.

We use Nature’s Miracle. But honestly if the pee has soaked through to the pad, nothing will help the smell except rip and replace. You might even need to treat the subfloor once the carpet and pad are up.

^This. I have also had good luck with Nature’s Miracle but you must really soak the area of the carpet that was soiled and @anomander is right when he says the only option is to rip and replace if the urine has soaked thru to the pad. If you do have to replace, consider a washable rug. Disclaimer, I have not used these myself but am considering some of the area rugs because I have a cat who frequently hacks up hairballs. My pet owner friends love them.

@greenwitch This is wall to wall carpeting. It’s about 4 years old so I don’t want to have to replace it in the near future. We estimate our dog has up to 2 years remaining (hard to tell because he’s a rescue and we don’t know how old he is exactly). I think I’ll try the Natures Miracle on one spot and if the black light indicates that it’s worked I’ll do the larger areas. I just went home for lunch and my daughter has found two new spots. It may also be time for belly bands. Any feedback on Scotchguard for carpeting?
Thankfully he’s a little dog - about 8 pounds so the volume of urine isn’t like a Great Dane

I have a very elderly dog who has had incontinence issues for quite a while. My carpet guy does a fabulous job on the spots and then always applies a Teflon protective spray to give us the best chance of getting out future stains. Dog diapers have been a lifesaver for us. Our pup is female so I don’t have experience with belly bands, but I’ve heard good things about them. I buy diaper covers on Amazon and then use Poise pads from Costco inside. It’s amazing how well this works.

My sister raises small show dogs and swears by belly bands for hers. They are in the house with her and it prevents those accidents after they have progressed passed the puppy pads.

I second a belly band for the dog. It’s very common for senior males.

Clorox urine remover.

Woolite 30 second Insta Clean Oxy pet stain remover. It actually lived up to its name (fortunately for the very old rug). And I’m not talking little stains either.
