I know a bunch of kids who are working there. They recruit like crazy, but only a small number of kids make the cut when they test them. They train them if they have the skills as shown by their tests. The kid who work there seem to love it there. Pay is good. Benefits great. The area is not bad at all for young people right out of college with a major university right there and the cost of living and availability of housing and other necessities and amenities is good.

S2 works there. The campus is magnificent and they get subsidized lunch, which is basically all S2 now eats. He’s not crazy about the environment and is applying to grad school for this Fall. Still, he acknowledges it’s not horrible – he gets to work indoors, he’s paid well, he’s met some nice (and smart) people, and he’s really enjoying Madison, WI. Still, I think the work itself is a tad brain-numbing.

Son had an internship there this past summer and will be starting in June after graduation. Gave us a tour of the campus in August. Pretty amazing with some of the indoor themed areas. The pay offered is great especially in relation to the COL of the area compared to east and west coasts. A nephew of SIL has been there 4 or 5 years I believe and is very happy with it.

Like most tech jobs there is a strong co. culture and either you fit it or not. I don’t think it’s as weird as Amazon for example. But demanding for sure. What is SOP for west coast tech jobs seems too demanding to some in midwest so they leave–get 8-5 tech job with UW, the state or American Family etc.

My son works there. VeryHappy has summed it up nicely. It’s a lot of work but the job pays well and my son loves Madison and the boat he purchased to play on the lakes on the weekends. Has met a lot of really great people at Epic from all over the country. The campus is unlike anything I’ve ever seen!
