Equifax security breach

YIKES!

They have set up a site where one can register for complimentary identity theft protection.

I just did so but have to wait until Sept. 12th before I can finish the registration process.

I have never understood what is the point of having a “strong” password when these days the real danger is hackers going in and taking the entire database of information! It’s as if passwords are just a quaint old idea now, why bother?

Yikes indeed.

And if the hack weren’t bad enough on its own: https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2017-09-07/three-equifax-executives-sold-stock-before-revealing-cyber-hack

Maybe Equifax will offer a free year of credit monitoring…by Equifax.

@rosered55 Article says the trio had not been informed of the breach when they sold their shares.
Of course not! =))
