Anyone know anything about ernst and young in terms of recruiting, what they look for, etc.? They’re site doesn’t exactly tell you much.

I’m also interested in the Big Fours but know very little. I know someone who’s an auditor for pwc. All he did was four years of undergrad accounting study. Of course, you need a good resume, but I would say for a Big Four, interview is key. Hopefully someone can clear this up for us.

well… technically, I COULD ask my dad, but he’s always so busy and quite frankly I don’t want him to know that I might be interested in working at the same place he does.

Is there really anything wrong with that? I think that would make things better if you worked at the same places. What does he exactly do, and does he like what he does?

well he uh… i’m not sure. This is his signature on all his emails:

Technology & Security Risk Services

He’s a senior manager and before he worked at EY, he worked at KPMG. I know he gets paid somewhere around $185k and he’s been working there for 5 years. He says one of his bosses gets paid over $650k a year (he’s a partner). His tip to me was if you REALLY wanna make money there, get in when you’re young, become a partner before 35 and you’ll be set for life.

Does he like what he does: I guess. I mean he wakes up at 5:30AM usually leaves before I wake up (7:30), and doesn’t get home till around 11PM. He works at the one on 5 times square [the new building]. He says he loves his job and wouldn’t trade it for any other. Reasons being 1) EY really cares about their employees so it’s a very friendly enviornment 2) You really learn a lot about people, how to deal with problematic ones, etc. 3) You meet interesting people (he’s meet Carly Fiorina) and a bunch of other reasons.

From my point of view: He’s away a lot so he obviously doesn’t see us that much. Me and him talk more through emails and txt messages but I guess that’s the price one pays for that lifestyle. I guess it’s worth it…

If you give me more questions, I could ask them for you if you’d like

I’ve heard of summer internships for college students. Does anyone know about these? WHat types of majors do you have to be. There are a lot of diff depts. could anyone give me any advice?

mag00 what kind of job is this?..is it accouting?..
