Error ID Question

question:

Although his ratings were falling, the mayor, against the will of his advisors, ignored public opinion and announced that he would severely cut educational spending. No error

answer: No error.

My question: since ‘will’ is singular, shouldn’t it be ‘advisor’ instead of ‘advisors’ ?

Will is always a whole.
It shows unity…for instance.

“It is our will to unite against the empire”
“Their will power was strong enough to withstand the mighty force”

The advisors devised one large will for the president. I don’t know though, I’m hella tired, ****ed off, and sleepy. Good luck
