(Had I known) that the line to get into the movie (would be) so long, I (would of) left earlier to get to the theater or (bought) my ticket online.

I knew it was either C or D, but I chose D (or bought) because I though it was not parallel and should have been “or would have bought”

Why is the answer C (would of)?

Because it’s “would have,” not “would of.” There’s no situation in which “would of” is correct.

@allyphoe has it. “Would of” is always, always, always wrong.
