Error in Penn Huntsman Essay

I made a small mistake in my Huntsman Essay. I feel like an idiot about it and really want to fix it… I would like to send a replacement version.

Does anyone know who I should email?

Thank you in advance for any advice you can offer.

You can e-mail your regional director of admissions; however, I wouldn’t make a change unless it is a key error.

Thanks for your response. It is a grammatical error (switched verb tense) that involved in adding ‘ed’ to a verb. (for example ‘switch’ becoming ‘switched’) A bunch of other people didn’t see it.

Does it draw a whole lot of negative attention to my application if I point it out?

You know that you’re obsessing over such a petty detail, don’t you? I’d worry about bigger things if I were you. The mistake isn’t an issue, and honestly, contacting the adcoms to fix it would make you seem a little obsessive. No worries, mmkay? By the way, I had a grammar error and I got into Huntsman. Do you mind showing me your essay? I would like to read it because I’m just into international things- I won’t critique it or anything.

I wouldn’t bring that up. I don’t think they’ll notice—remember that they have to read so many applications within a certain time, and they want to get to know you—not these small grammar mistakes.

I spelled Philadelphia as Phillidelphia in my Why Penn essay, but it seems they overlooked it. I found out after I was accepted - and I felt like an idiot lol

Yeah, I’d agree that contacting admissions would make a “mountain out of a molehill.” They probably won’t make a big deal out of it, unless you contact them and shine a spotlight on the error…

I just actually read the whole essay again, and actually noticed some more things that are questionable. I really think I should send in a replacement.

I really appreciate everyone trying to make me feel better and all, but I’m actually not much of a stickler for this stuff. I’d like to send in a replacement and am still looking for the correct email address.

Does anyone know who I should email? How can I find the email for my Regional Director of Admissions?

Thanks!

Just email Inge Herman, the person who’s responsible for Huntsman admissions. Google her name and find an email address. I think you can find it on the Huntsman site.
