<p>Hi I am an ESL student hoping to get into Duke ED. I was just wondering what would they think about my B in AP English Language… I got an average of 88 in the class (90 first sem, 86 second sem), so I was lamenting if I should have just taken regular English and got a solid A… Anyway, my real question is, do colleges usually get impressed if a ESL student (been in the U.S for 5 years) takes linguistically challenging classes such as APUSH, AP Euro, AP Language, and AP Literature? Also, I am a Korean, but I decided to take Spanish and am finishing my senior year with an honors spanish IV, which is personally hard for me, but I still am getting low As…but my concern is my classmates seem to be getting solid or high A’s. What do you think? </p>
