Does anyone have one they love? Dh loves his coffee and we need a new one. He likes it to grind the beans and make one cup at a time. I don’t drink coffee and this is going to be his holiday gift. We currently have a Gaggia platinum. Googling is overwhelming when trying to find the ‘best’ one. One that’s easy to clean would be a bonus.
If he likes super automatic espresso machines like the Platinum, I recommend staying with Gaggia and getting the Cadorna Prestige or Barista Plus depending on your budget. If you want to move away from Gaggia, consider a Jura.
We’re an old school Moka pot household (for husband and our young adult children when they are home; I don’t drink coffee) but I’m guessing you are looking for something fancier.
The Miele one is very nice and easy to maintain. It is also very expensive. (I stayed in a home with one and loved it. Contemplated purchasing one until I saw the process tag, at which point. I fell in love with my French press again!)
I have a Miele, and it is expensive (close to $2k - I got 20% off which helped a little), but I LOVE it and it makes me happy every day. I’ve used mine every day for six years (except when on vacation of course), and it hasn’t given me any trouble. You do have to clean it regularly. I tried a Jura, but it didn’t make the drinks hot enough for me.
I started with an “original” Starbucks espresso machine back in the 90s, and have worked my way up.
You fill the bean thing every several days, and have to attach the milk thing to it each morning if you want lattes, but it’s super easy.
H loved his Saeco but they don’t make his model anymore.
