Essay about being a communist...too risky?

Honestly, in an interview, unless you are very eloquent and articulate, mention of being communist may hurt your chances. If you can write in a compelling way about how being communist has shaped your own UNIQUE circumstances, than it stands a chance at being an excellent admissions essay. I’m sure you’ll be the only one (if not one of VERY FEW) to write about being communist. Just try to be unique. I believe, contrary to many others’ opinions, that it would go very well in the “unofficial motto” essay, if you write it carefully. Think carefully about what communism means to you, and what it means to society, and incorporate that into your essay. The key word is “carefully.” You never know who will be on the other side reading your essay. You do however have slightly more lee-way in the essay than you would in an actual personal interview. If you’re a strong writer and communism is really an aspect of your life that defines your character - then go for it! Just be careful… my 2 cents! Good luck! :)
