Essay about being a weak applicant?

I’m about to apply for WUSTL scholarships. There is a little section that says

I’m considering putting one of the two in there.:
**A)**My Common Application Additional Information essay, in which I talked about a family challenged I faced (causing my grades to fall), and how I got my goal of getting stronger every day from that experience.

However, I’m considering writing the following essay
B) An essay about how I know I’m not the strongest candidate, and giving reasons why I am still applying. Kinda like a begging essay in a way…idk.

What do you guys thing is better?

Don’t beg - that’s pathetic. You already have an essay written, so why write another? I think you know the answer.

Well not begging, just kinda being real. Like saying “I know I’m not the strongest applicant, I have made many mistakes in the past.” Then go into my strengthens and kinda say why I am competitive or something.
