Please do not write about other people when you are writing your college essay!!!
I cannot tell you how many applicants I see that write about their family or friends and their problems, and that’s great that you are supportive and care, but I want to know about YOU!
What makes you interesting, what do you love, what have you experienced?
Just a word of advice to all of you writing your college essay. Also, have a teacher or counselor or mentor look over it. I know that you might think it is good, but having other people look it over is essential to having a good essay. Sometimes, an essay can really make or break an admission decision.
PS: White savior complex stories aren’t good either…
