Essay Dilemma

I have gotten my Commonapp essay reviewed a lot of times, and I was satisfied at it that time. But now, I have been getting second thoughts as I have an another essay at hands which I beleive reflects a better extent of my writing.

Also, Thinking about changing some supplemental essays. Like the old ones I have written were really really bad.

Please help me If I should send in my new essays. If not the Commonapp ones at least the supplementals.

Thank you.

Only if you include a cover letter saying, “Since I didn’t care enough about your school to put in any effort when writing the applications, the essays were really bad. So even though the application deadline was weeks ago, here are my new essays.”

Just in case ski’s post left any question, do NOT send in any new essays (whether common app or supplementals) to any of the schools you applied to.

You applications are completed and the deadline has passed. There are no do-overs.

Don’t worry any more about this. Chances are that if you get in, it won’t be because of essays, and if you don’t get in, it won’t be because of essays.

Wait, I’m confused, are you asking about submitting new essays to schools you already applied to? If so, then the answer is no. If you’ve already applied then those essays are done.

You can’t do anything about the apps you’ve turned in if the deadlines have passed. However, you can use different essays on any applications going forward.

Ah, that makes sense. I ran my essays couple of time on esslo, and they scored perfect grading. But I feel like they did not have the creative twist.

Let’s hope the best.

Thank you!

Ok I’ll just counsel myself. NOT

I am really having a lot of second thoughts on my essays, still. Do you really think it is a hard no?

OP - you have your answer.

And to be clear, the answer is “hard no.”
