<p>The benefits of curiosity to the human race cannot be overstated. Although “curiosity killed the cat” and can have negative effects, this fact is overshadowed by the numerous instances in which curiosity has benefited humans. Three paradigms that highlight this fact are Sir Isaac Newton’s curiosity of gravity, Americans curiosity with outer space, and Columbus’ curiosity with Asia.</p>
<p>Sir Isaac Newton, one of the world’s most renowned and early physicists conducted numerous experiments in the 17th century based on his curiosity.The inquisitive man pondered why things fall and what force causes things to act in a certain way. Through this experiments based upon a question that stemmed from his curiosity, the theory of gravity was born. This theory revolutionized the world of not only physics but also science as a whole. The birth of Newton’s laws of motions can be directly attributed to Newton’s curiosity in the force that is now called gravity. Physics has since come along way in its research but the curiosity of physicists has yet to cease which, like gravity, is a force that pushes them to do more. </p>
<p>Americans have also directly benefited from curiosity because it was there curiosity and fascination with the moon that propelled the government to create NASA and go into space. Although the government wanted to show his superiority to the Soviet Union, many people were genuinely curious with outer space. The benefits of this original curiosity can be seen today but they may be even greater in the future. Scientists now are curious to see if their are living organisms like bacteria in space. This would Totally change the world because of the new possibilities. All of this research and knowledge benefits humans and all of it stemmed from the curiosity of people. </p>
<p>Columbus’ curiosity of Asia led him to ask Ferdinand and Isabella of Spain to get him ships in order to explore Asia. Instead of actually achieving his original goal, he made the trans Atlantic voyage to the New World. Therefore, the discovery of the entire New World is based on the curiosity of one man. His curiosity is what led him to want to explore and even though he did not find Asia, he found the new world. Indeed, Columbus is curiosity led directly to his findings of the newer. </p>
<p>The benefits of curiosity are numerous and can especially be seen in the paradigms of Newton, Columbus, and American interest in space. All of these paradigms have great benefits that can still be seen today.</p>
