im writing my essay on my parents’ lives and how their lives motivate me. in my essay, 320/522 words illustrate what they went through and the remaining 202 words are about my sentiments and how my outlook on life changed. since the essay is supposed to convey to the reader a sense of who i am, am i making a huge mistake in writing more about my parents’ lives than about how it affected me? or is it acceptable? i’m really worried that the officers would look at my essay and think I didn’t answer the question properly. thank you

If you don’t feel strong about it, rewrite it.

i do feel strong about it, honestly. it’s just that i reread the essay topic on the application and started to worry. i need advice

Have someone read it, and ask them what they are able to tell about you.

that could work

Do they prefer a double or single spaced essay? Does it matter? Also, my essay is 644 words but fits on two pages even when double spaced, will this count too much against me?
