Essay: How Long is Too Long?

<p>I’ve been working on my optional essay for my University of Pittsburgh application. However, it turned out to be about 3 pages double spaced. Is this too long? Should I try to cut it to 500 words, although they don’t really outline a maximum essay length?</p>

<p>Any advice would be appreciated.</p>

<p>Yikes that seems really long to me. I can’t recall seeing any college essay asking for more than 500 words. What I’d worry about is that your essay won’t be read entirely through.</p>

<p>yes I was thinking that, as well. I’m gonna try to cut it to one page.</p>
