Essay Length Paranoia

Basically, both of my short answer essays for the tufts supplement are over 200 words, one is 213, and the other is 260, is this going to be a problem? (im having a really hard time cutting it down) Secondly, I still do not see the optional essay for the Tufts Supplement Application on this website : http://apply.tufts.edu/supplement/</a>, am I missing something?

i had mine at 213 and 217
im not sure if mine are ok, but i submitted it thinking it was fine

no that’s totally fine. the link for the optional essay is somewhere on the top right of the supplement…it’s like a button that says “optional essay info”

Oh don’t worry about that at all! I think mine were 250 and 300 and I got in!

other opinions here…

some people think so, some don’t

oh man, thanks a lot guys, I actually was able to cut both down to about 220 now, so I think I’m alright.

The essay length isn’t a huge deal - you want to keep it close, but they’re pretty realistic about it. I saw someone post on here who said they’d done an 800+ word optional essay and got in, so…I don’t think a little over 200 will kill you.
