Essay on Jesuit Tradition

I am applying to Loyola and am required to write an essay on why the Jesuit tradition is important to me. However, I am Protestant and feel largely ignorant about the Jesuits, except their most basic features. Therefore I’m struggling to write the essay both because of lack of material to connect with as well as fear I will say something incorrect. Could someone outline some of the Jesuit’s core beliefs that have essay potential? Thanks!

PS: Here is the actual text of the question: Loyola’s Jesuit tradition is a commitment to a liberal arts education and the spiritual ideals of the Society of Jesus, leading to development of the whole person. Loyola is dedicated to educating students who learn, lead and serve in a diverse and changing world. On a separate sheet of paper (in 250 words or more), please tell us why the Jesuit tradition at Loyola University Maryland is important to you.

Didn’t they just outline the beliefs for you?
I don’t think they’re really talking about the specific religious differences, more the principles of service and education. You can talk generally about that

It would be worthwhile to educate yourself about the Jesuits. No doubt there are numerous online resources that can give you the basic understanding you would need to answer the question.
