This is really random, but one of my extracurriculars is weapons (mainly swords). I am also a 4th degree black belt, I have been doing taekwondo for 10 years and swords for about 5, would it be a good idea to write about those on the Common App, to make myself stand out? I was going to write about being a girl and doing weapons, and how I want to help empower women and their self defense and rights throughout the world (my academic goal is Global Affairs).

My other main passions are Model UN (since freshman year), playing viola (6 years, advanced, but I’m sending a supplement for that), and journalism/photography (but I feel like everybody will write about those).

I love all of my extracurriculars equally, so I could write about any of them, but I want to look unique, and hopefully that would stick out from other applicants.

My dream schools are UPenn, Columbia, and Yale, and they have taekwondo clubs (but they don’t recruit from them), but it would be somewhat relevant to the school.
