<p>Hello,
Several years ago, I got an internship at a fairly prestigious/well known college nearby. My mentors there have become a major influence on my life, and I was thinking about using them in my essay.</p>
<p>However, considering that I am applying to other universities, several of which attract similar students to the one that I interned at, would the internship be an appropriate essay subject? I think it is important and fits well, but I’m not sure whether the mention of an equally competitive university would negatively impact my admissions chances.</p>
