<p>I just have to make this observation in this forum:</p>
<p>It is ironic that colleges expect such good writing from people who have not yet gone throught their institutions that will, presumably, teach the applicants to write well.</p>
<p>This observation also applies to the stratospheric standardized test scores and GPAs that I see regularly reported in CC. If the applicant is already so good, then why is he or she even applying to college?</p>
