Essay: Trip to Brazil, Applying to Cornell, Brown

I made my short answer on the Common App funny, but I am trying to make the essay about a significant experience serious. My goal is to leave a lasting impact.

My problem is have 1100 words, and I do not know where to begin cutting down.
I will be applying Cornell, Brown, and Northwestern with this essay, so I am trying to make it impressive yet at the moment, it is lackluster.

My first post, but I have been lurking for awhile.

I have cut it down to 900 words

780 words, unified theme, now I need impressions of it

FYI: ultimateslacker is a Reader-Sans-Response, if you’re wary of those sorts.
(Sorry for calling you out like that ultimateslacker, but it’s not a good hobby to pick up, offering to help and then never responding. Makes people a bit suspicious. >_<)

I’ll read if you’d like as well. ^^

Doesn’t the common app essay have to be 500 words?

It can be as long as 6000 characters
