Essay

How do you know if your essay is good or bad?

You can reread them and self-judge them. like i went back in my computer files and read 2 of my 5 activity logs and realized they only answered half the prompt. those=bad.

This is my take on it:

My essay should convey something about me to a complete stranger that I have not covered in my extra curricular activities. If all I talked about was how awesome I was to win the world championship of folding origami, with no “lesson learned” or “personality improvement” or something, I doubt it will go well with the admissions people.

My essay should be obviously revised; I’ve had months to write it and think about it. It shouldn’t sound like I wrote it in 30 minutes the night before. My thoughts should be organized; there should be a nice story line. There shouldn’t be obvious grammatical errors (of course, ESL students is another story there).

Also, it should answer the prompt.
