Essays? Recommendations?

Thanks MAD (sorry, could not resist as I usually shorten user names  )

As I thought about this more, and talked with my son, it makes sense that an essay and recommendations may be required IF he was selected for EA, and IF he were asked to apply for the Honors College. As you reminded me EA is based only on #'s.

Based on SATs he has qualified for scholarship that will make Auburn a viable option financially (putting it in the ballpark of instate $$). He narrowly missed out on Presidential. No biggie, he may hit it on ACTs in a couple of weeks, or not. We are certainly proud of how well he has worked in HS overall. I would be curious to know what the average for GPA & SAT/ACT has been in previous years for EA, however I doubt that information is available. We are not instate so not as familiar with the normal operations. We could give you a good ballpark of VA schools lol, but we’re out of our element here.

Now that we know we can afford Auburn (or I should say we won’t go as in debt any more than an instate school!), we will be making a trip in late June. I’m sure we can get a lot of his questions answered then. This one just stuck me as I’m used to seeing a different format.

I should add that S2 is interested in Auburn’s Aerospace Engineering program. Not every engineering program has aero, so he has to look oos for programs that are financially viable, thus Auburn came on the radar. I would have never expected this a year ago.

Thanks again for your reply. I saw in previous posts that you’re from DC and now in Atlanta (thus the screen name)…seems we have some of the same stomping grounds. :)
