Estranged from parents - how do I transfer?

I’ve been estranged from my parents for 9 months, and since I’m younger than 24, all my transfer applications require my parents to fill out sections concerning financial information. Thing is, I don’t want to contact my parents. Plus, I doubt they’d fill out the information even if I did.

So is there any way I can transfer colleges? And without giving this information, will I be able even to get loans to cover college costs?

My current college costs are very low, but they won’t be if I transfer to a private school.

Get married. :)

Why don’t you include a letter stating that you do not have a legal guardian, and that you are responsible for all financial and other responsibilites affiliated with college.

Because they wont believe him

We were told today by a Financial Aid representative at our college that there’s only two ways to do so: marriage (as someone else said), and medical proof of an abusive environment at home. Seems pretty silly, and I hope that schools would make exceptions for extraordinary circumstances beyond those two categories.

I have extensive documented evidence of the psychological torment my parents put me through, but no evidence that my parents’ physical abuse was a major problem (because it wasn’t). Does that count as “medical proof of an abusive environment at home”?

Yes. Psychological damage nowadays is equivalent to a medical condition.
