If his shop has been closed, I would go ahead and file a claim.
Just an update - it finally just arrived! And is very nice . It is a fair isle type knit stocking with my sister’s name embroidered on it . I could have put it in dispute with Etsy as early as December 16th , but decided to give it a little longer since at least the vendor was still communicating with me. The shop is closed but at least he still seems to be filling some outstanding orders. There are 28 reviews now and many are still negative (haven’t gotten what they ordered , or got the wrong order or name wasn’t right, vendor not communicating, etc.). Some are positive and I am one of the lucky ones who got what I ordered. Happy Holidays!
I’m guessing this person was not a scammer, just a feckless artisan who let things get out of hand. Glad you got the stocking and it can now be hung by the chimney with care.
Sounds like he got more orders than he could handle. Glad you got it in time and are happy with it.
Well, I don’t think this was a scammer even though a couple reviews alleged that, and they also brought up questions about where the product was coming from, that it was not coming from the USA. And the shop appears to now to be closed. But, I’m pretty confident this was not a feckless artisan either. But, my sister arrives tomorrow and I will have a stocking with her name on it to give her when she gets here. My late mother in law hand knit beautiful stockings for her children and grandchildren. My husband’s is VERY old, mine dates from the year we were married, and she knit ones for both our kids when they came along. My sister has never married and is very close to my children. I just wanted to have a nice knit stocking with her name on it to go with ours on the mantel. We have had a generic stocking for her before but this is much nicer. I hope she likes it! She is a wonderful , generous, sister and Aunt!
I’m glad it worked out!
Thanks to all!
