Eugene Lang - NO EC's!

<p>I know, I know, you’re all tired of seeing those threads where the poster is crying about having no EC’s and being too lazy to take any of your recommendations. Well, here’s another.</p>

<p>I really want to attend Eugene Lang or Hunter College (preferably EU). My only extracurricular is Winter Training/Crew Freshman year (on the Freshman 8 Boat). I’m going into my junior year and am planning on joining Builder’s Club (volunteer) and Photography Club (If my highschool gets there ***** together this year!). I really don’t care how these look on an application, just thought it was worth mentioning.</p>

<p>I’m hoping to get into Eugene Lang because (I’ll go ahead and toot my own horn here) I’m pretty smart and a kickass writer. I want to major is Psychology and have a 3.7 GPA (4.5 weighted), take all honors classes available for the core subjects, AP English, Ap Biology, and AP Psychology this coming junior year. I also took two years of Art, which I know is recommended at EU.</p>

<p>Haven’t taken SAT’s yet… but I’m not too worried about them… I’m just worried about lacking EC’s will be overshadowed by a good transcript.</p>

<p>I go to lang and i had almost no ECs–the ones that i was involved in were reflections of my personality and my dedication to them really showed through, i think. lang isn’t really about numbers but about people, so if you show dedication in a small number of ECs you should be fine.</p>

<p>also, the essays seem to matter more than anything else!</p>

<p>I think you should be alright if you add a few this year (maybe volunteer somewhere to start) your GPA is great, and assuming you do well on your SAT, you shouldn’t worry too much.</p>
