I am applying to top engineering schools and I would like to know if it will be frowned upon that I never took history or english honors while taking honors and ap math, science and computer programming

It will hurt you a little bit, but not as much as if you didn’t take on a tough schedule in math/sciences. Schools look for well-rounded applicants.

You could make up for it by getting involved in a history or english ec, like newspaper, writing club, model congress, or debate team.

Out of curiosity, where are you looking? Lehigh, Carnegie Mellon, Harvey Mudd, Caltech, Stanford?

Right now, out of that list, I am only applying to Carnegie Mellon and maybe Lehigh , but I have already applied to the Cornell school of Engineering (ed) and Rensselaer.

I have participated in sports throughout high school and made captain this year plus a few minor clubs. So I’m hoping it won’t hurt me too much.

Cool. I love Carnegie Mellon and I’m most likely going to apply (but not for engineering).

Best of luck to ya.
