<p>I have two teacher who can write me recommendations. One is my physics teacher who can maybe elaborate about my independent research project that I have been doing at an optical laboratory. The other is my spanish teacher who personally chose me to be President of the Spanish Honors Society because she saw leadership skills in me? Which one should i ask to write the final evaluation paper for my stanford app? Would stanford be more impressed by research experience or leadership skills? Thank you!</p>

<p>What makes your English teacher and Student Council advisor better recommenders than those two? – Basically, figure out what aspects of you those teachers will highlight and then pick a final rec based on whose portrayal of you will show a different side.</p>
<p>I might go for physics just to have a teacher from a different discipline (rather than only humanities and extracurricular sides). Was your physics teacher helpful in setting up the independent research project, or involved in any way in that?</p>
<p>In the past Stanford asked for one recommendation from math/science teacher, and one from humanities/social studies teacher. If this is still the case, go for the physics teacher rec. If it does not matter, pick the one that loves you more (or the one that is a better writer).</p>
