evanston campus to chicago campus

hey all,

Will the intercampus shuttle be running during NSW? I need to make a trip to Feinberg that Friday after I move in but am not sure if the shuttle is running.

And if it isn’t running can someone tell me the quickest EL route there? I used the CTA planner but the address that I used for the Ward building or Northwestern Memorial Hospital don’t seem to exist on the planner.

Thanks a bunch!

The Intercampus Shuttle runs year-round with the exception of the holidays stated on the first page of the schedule below, so yes, it will be running during New Student Week:

http://www.northwestern.edu/uservices/docs/transportation/intercampus08.pdf

The intersection of the Ward building Downtown is N. Fairbanks Ct. and E. Chicago Ave.

If you’re coming from Evanston, just catch the shuttle at one of the stops on Sheridan Ave and it will directly take you to Ward (last stop).

Coming from anywhere in Chicago, the airports and whatnot:

Get on the Red Line (or some other line and switch to Red [they all connect with it at some point]… for O’Hare, blue line and switch at Jackson; for Midway, orange line and switch at Roosevelt), get off at Chicago Ave. Station, and walk about 3 blocks East on Chicago Ave. You will pass Michigan Ave and the next street over is N. Fairbanks (just past Prentice Women’s Hospital). The Intercampus Shuttle stop is across from the park and directly in front of the entrance to Ward. If you don’t want to walk from the Chicago Ave. Station (it’s just 3 blocks but if you have heavy bags), catch the 66 CTA bus going East and get off in front of Prentice Women’s Hospital and just walk back to Chicago Ave/Fairbanks. The 66 bus map is here: http://www.transitchicago.com/assets/1/bus_schedules/66.pdf

Have your Wildcard ready to board the Shuttle, and in about 30 minutes, you will be in Evanston. The first stop on campus is The Arch (south campus) then the Kellogg building (mid-campus) then Tech, this huge engineering building (north campus).

The shuttle will look like this: <a href=“Campus Transportation: Loyola University Chicago”>Campus Transportation: Loyola University Chicago, run by the Free Enterprise System, except obviously, it will say “Northwestern Intercampus” on the LED display.

Good luck and welcome to NU.
