I am curious if Americans(Adcoms specially) know about these people(I would be mentioning them in my essay):
Ravan: Devil King from the Asian Epic Ramayan
Rabindra Nath Tagore: Noble prize winner
Jawahar Lal Nehru: India’s first PM

Thanks

I’ve heard of all of them, but then again I’m Hindu.

I’d like to add the ceremony of Puja to the list because it’s the basis for the theme in an essay I’m currently working on.

If you’re afraid that many people won’t recognize them, just insert parentheses and explain briefly who they are.

Also make sure you have it correct. His first name was Jawarharlal. And most well-read people know who Nehru was.

nooo ff

Nehru and Tagore are well-known in the US (at least among educated people) so college admins should have heard of them. Ravan isn’t, though most well-informed people have heard of the Ramayana.
