Everyone: Where shoud I apply to? Personal Opinions Welcome

I know you get a lot of these mails so ill make this brief

I am an indian (born in America but parents are from India) who resides in Louisiana and goes to a famous/incredibly hard boarding school named Choate Rosemary Hall (in the same league as Andover and Exeter)…nothing else of worthy note no siblings at anywhere (except BU), no legacies

Academics
SATI: 1410 (740 M, 670 V)
SATII: 730 writing
690 Math 1C
660 Math IIC
650 Chemistry

GPA: Freshman and Sophmore year: 4+ GPA at a local private school here in louisiana (best in the parish) and took pretty hard classes and was top in my class. I took a varied courseload and thus when the classes at the school ran out, i took classes at a local university (University of Louisiana) (Classes were Bio, Calculus 2, College Enlgish 200) and got another slate of 4.0…i was accepted to Choate and entered as a junior…

Junior year (Choate): Junior year i took AP Chem, English 300, AP Statistics, Spanish 200, and American History…the result wasnt what i wanted but i improved steadily each term…i ended up with a 2.81 unweighted GPA and a 3.01 Weighted GPA

Senior year (Choate): Senior year (currently) i took Honors American Political Institutions (evolves into AP Gov), British Literature, Honors Anatomy and Physiology, Spanish 300, AP Macroeconomics (evolves into AP Micro), and a directed study in Dynamic Modeling (math/comp sci course)…this term i earned a 3.5 unweighted GPA and a 3.7 weighted GPA.

EC’s
I wont list all of them just the important ones

-over 600 total hours of volunteer hours at a local hospital, nursing homes, soup kitchens since freshman year
-learned to play 3 instruments myself (violin-4 years, tabla-3 years, trombone- 1yr) played in the band for two years…
-JV basketball (1yr), JV volleyball (1yr), Varsity Tennis (2yr), hopefully Varsity Vollyball this year
-Clubs: Participated in many including cultural and misc. ones but no leadership position besides participating in the Student Class Committee junior year…also was a member of National Honors Society
-Won the State Science fair and state poetry contest (3rd place) and won the state Air Force Award for my science project
-My main EC is probably heavily politically campaigning for candidates such as John Kerry and Bobby Jindal

I am applying ED to PENN and i would like to have your opinions for admission. I am also applying regular to tulane, vanderbilt (both of whom have seemed to take a liking to flooding my email and mail box), georgetown, lehigh, and BU…on a side note i am currently involved in a political project with professors from Tulane, Vanderbilt, Georgetown, and Penn…i wonder if that helps any. Am i on par with these schools and/or where else is good?

Thanks for reading and opinions are welcome

Bump…help my cause please

Honestly, I don’t think you’re into Penn, but I think you have a good chance at Vandy (indians are actually an URM there)

I probably would say the same…but any opinions on the rest? What about other college suggestions?

you shouldn’t have too much trouble getting into Lehigh, Vandy, BU, and Tulane.

some more good ones you should check out are Rice, Duke, Cornell, Columbia, and NYU

well, id say you should be able to get on the wait list at penn, probably top 1%. There’s some scholarship at Tulane that you should be able to get easily at a school like Choate. And if you stay away from time-wasting activities like playing poker, you could probably get your grades up. But what do I know, good luck
