Everything I need

Hey guys so I just got my SAT score back, I’m not satisfied with it at all and I want to take it again in Mach (I’m a junior). What books should I buy to prepare myself even more? I already know the “blue book” but which edition and please tell me specifically what you guys used. I currently have the Driect Hits Vocabulary volume 1 & 2, some grammar book and a princeton review book that did not help me at all.

The subject on the SAT that destroyed me was writing! I just can’t seem to comprehend it at all because my school doesn’t teach grammar AT ALL. They just tell you to read a book, take the tests and repeat a couple of times. What is a good, concise and easy grammar book? I read the silverturtle’s guide and I still don’t understand it. How do you guys study for it?

It would be a plus if you can link me to the books you’re talking about thank you (:

BB latest edition, Barron’s if you want to overprep (it also has a nice vocab list) and Barron’s 2400 to get turn that 2000 in a 2100+

Is the latest edition the 2nd edition? Also any other books?

findavincent,

I’ve read through Siverturtle’s Grammar Guide and it is lengthy. However, it is also fairly concise and points out how certain types of grammar questions are treated by the College Board. I would recommend that you work your way through it again. It is not something that you can read once and master all the concepts unless you are already strong in grammar.

Check College Board’s website, the 2nd Edition of the BB is the latest edition. There are also other official CB practice tests linked elsewhere on CC.

Work through it, make sure you understand each grammar concept.

Good luck.
