How much weight do admissions officers put on midyear grades? I think I read in the Johns Hopkins University thread that it is “VERY” important, but is that for all colleges? It’s just confusing because Washington University in St. Louis apparently sends out decisions rather soon (last year it was March 15), yet most midyears are sent in February (mine just arrived at the Admissions Officer), so I don`t see how the officers have enough time to read thousands of midyears in just a few short weeks, and make final decisions?
I guess I'm kind of stressing because my midyear wasn`t too good .. my overall GPA only dropped by .01 points and my class rank actually rose, but the upward trend that I had been experiencing changed to a downward trend :[
