I’d take a look at Fairfield. Has about 5000 students. Far enough away from home and is oriented toward NYC rather than Boston, so he would feel like he’s gotten away. Large, beautiful campus in a residential neighborhood of a suburban town, but you can get to New Haven or NYC by commuter rail. The business school is popular. It has become increasingly selective in recent years (25% acceptance rate for this past year’s freshman class), so he should find students with the drive to be successful.

Thank you! I am not familiar with Trinity and will have my S look into it!

Thanks! Yes, I forgot about this one. Our HS sends several kids each year. He is planning to tour in the fall.

What is his sport that he might join for club?

Also looking for near a city ao Lafayette, Bucknell don’t check that box.

But Villanova does.

One possibility that doesn’t hit 3k, but isn’t far off, is Furman. It offers a business major with various tracks, and I don’t believe there are any secondary admission requirements (besides acceptance to the university). 36% of students participate in Greek life, but rush isn’t until the second semester which allows students to acclimate and make an informed decision on if they want to rush (source). It’s in Greenville, but on the outskirts.

I haven’t visited the campus, but from everything I’ve seen, it’s a beautiful campus that someone who likes U. of Richmond would also like.

Thank you! Will take a look at Furman.

I think he would like Villanova, but for some reason his HS doesn’t do well with admissions there. The local parochial school sends a lot of kids with similar stats to Villanova. He plays tennis.

Being near a city is actually not a deal breaker for him. Would be nice, but he liked the (very) small towns near the Elon and Bucknell campuses. He would prioritize a traditional, contained, beautiful campus that feels welcoming. Lafayette felt smaller than Richmond (maybe too small) even though the student body size is similar. He likes the fact that the Richmond campus is spread out.

What about Univ of Delaware for a target for business major?
Nice campus.

Or Univ of Pittsburgh?

Some of the colleges already mentioned are also found in this list. See what you think.
