Excess Scholarship Funds

<p>My son will be an international student @ NYU in the fall of 2012. As everyone can guess we get no funding so we are applying like crazy to all sorts of scholarship funds. This is just a hypthetical question (and wishing thinking)…</p>

<p>Let’s say tuition etc. is $60K and you manage to get $70K in scholarships…can the $10K sit in your account at the university and roll to the next year’s fall semester?</p>

<p>Keep in mind all our financing is either us (his parents) or scholarships.</p>

<p>Check NYU’s policies…at most schools, students must request a refund in order to receive the overage so I’m guessing they would just keep the money on his account if he didn’t request it. Good luck with the scholarships (and the wishful thinking)!</p>
