<p>It varies by semester anyway. Sometimes you can take it, sometimes you can’t; sometimes 20 units feels light, sometimes 13 is all you can handle and even then you feel pressed.</p>
<p>Be careful with a major like econ. From what I hear, a few of the classes can be incredible time sinks.</p>
<p>– But yes. L&S is the hub for most exceptions to University policy. They will probably make you talk to one of the Deans, then come back with information substantiating why you want/need to take more than 20.5 units in the spring. Sooner is better than later, if for no other reason than that they have rather arbitrary deadlines for most things.</p>
