Okay so I still haven’t heard back from ANY school that I applied to for the Fall of 2007. (waiting for the mail today!)

However, my primary reason for creating this thread is as follows:

I failed to apply to some schools for the fall of 2007 that I really wanted to attend, and upon checking in detail, I realized that they do not accept applications for the Spring of 2008. I spoke with various counselors and some told me to try asking the admissions officer or “chair” if they could make an exception and allow my application for the Spring of 2008 even though they only accept applications in the fall.

I’m sure that they would only accept apps in the spring with extenuating circumstances. Can anyone think of a good “excuse” that I can use to allow my application to be reviewed in the Spring of 2008??

if you get accepted, why would you want to stay another semester where you are right now? If you are transfering you are obviously not happy? Tell the truth… you obviously have some sort of reason you want to stay, if you dont haeva good reason suck it up and go.

You need proof for everything… its not a simple parent calling the high school principal anymore…

think of it this way: you’d be asking for an exception, which means the admissions officer would basically be looking at your application alone (and maybe a few others that were also successful with their plea). The mere fact that they officially don’t want to admit transfers during the Spring semester, coupled with the fact that you’ll be one of the very few apps they look at, would make your chances seem slim unless you had some amazing stats.

Why not look at some schools that do accept Spring transfers? There are many.

Have your school councelor call them and ask how flexible they are about spring transfer. Short of lying, which I strongly urge you NOT to resort to for a myriad of reasons, that’s your most reasonable route right now.
