I currently am involved with volunteering at a program that mentors Autistic children. I am really attached to this program and I want to do more in the community relating to kids with special needs. I have a lot of fundraising ideas and I am currently looking for a child with special needs who needs financial help to fund for. Either that, or I will fund for special needs programs in school districts near me that need financial support or resources. However, my question is: What type of group should I form to carry out my fundraisers? Should I try to form a small community service group or a school club? Also, if this fundraising doesn’t work out, how else can I delve deeper into helping the special needs community besides just being an ordinary volunteer once a week?
Try talking to managerial-level people in the organization you’re volunteering with. They’ll have ideas or people or resources to direct you toward.
