<p>I have a daughter for whom these schools look like a good fit-- but I think they’re a bit of a reach (they have pretty low transfer admissions rates) and I’m a bit worried about financial aid. Does anyone have experience with financial aid for transfers to any of these schools? And does anyone have any recommendations for similar schools? Her stats are unimpressive. (College gpa and hs gpa just under a 3.0-- maybe a 2.8 or so-- and SATs-- which many schools don’t even look at-- 630CR, 530M, 660Writing.) She’s bad at math, a bit artsy, interested in social science major: political science or intl rels.</p>

<p>She’s overseas but I was giving her gpa at the community college (and yes, she’s applying to the state school) because I’m not sure her overseas work will transfer.</p>
<p>Has she checked w/ her community college? A number of prestig LAC have quasi-formal admissions prgms with communitiy colleges.</p>
<p>NYC, no such luck. 
The cc here is considered decent and sends kids everywhere-- but the overwhelming majority go to the state school and to local colleges/ universities.</p>
