Hello everyone, I was wondering if anybody has had any experience with Crimson Education. It seems like a good investment but, understandably, seems to good to be true. I’m specifically interested in the essay review, though any shared experience with crimson would be appreciated. My main questions are:
- Were you satisfied with your purchase? In other words, was it worth it?
- How comfortable did you feel submitting your essays, security-wise?
- Did you get into one of your top 3 choices? Correct me if I’m wrong, but I do believe crimson notes 90% of their students get into one of their top 3 schools.
Thanks in advance!
Hey there! I tried Crimson’s free interview thing for their entire package. The package included pretty much everything (SAT help, EC advising, essay review etc.) but was far too expensive for me (15k). Their single essay review is, of course, a lot cheaper but I’m not entirely sure about how good it is. It seems like a great option if you’re looking for grammatical/structural/style type edits but I doubt they would be much help for crafting the meaning and narrative of your essay. But that’s just me. I personally got my common app reviewed from a YouTuber who attends an elite uni for like 50$ and I’d say that was really worth it (I could refer you).
Hi! Yeah I’m interested in this YouTuber, can I ask who it is?
See if your pro counselors know what it truly takes. These guys are forming a venture, no experience in the field. What says they know more than founding a company and getting venture capital?

If a kid deserves, say, Yale, he should be able to research what they value and look for. He should be able to distinguish between ECs you just walk down the hall to versus meaningful contributions. With parent help is fine by me. But if a family believes it’s a crapshoot, they likely miss how they can exert their own control. And the vast number of top kids with help who don’t get into tippy tops. Just my rant.
