I am only a high school senior, but I am starting to think about what career path I would like to take. I have been considering becoming a research or experimental psychologist.

The trouble is, it is difficult to find practical information about research/experimental psychologists on the Internet. I keep finding basic job descriptions, salaries, and other broad topics, but I would like some more precise information.

Such as, how difficult is it to get a Ph.D in the field? What is it like to work? What kind of qualities/personality traits does a research/experimental psychologist need to have? What is best to do during college to prepare to become one? What are some specific things that they research or experiment about? What is their lives like in general?

If anyone going into that field or who knows someone who is in that field can provide some first-hand information, or if someone could find a website/article that goes into depth, I would be very grateful. Thanks!
