<p>No, they’re a safety net to protect themselves from frivolous litigation because some people didn’t understand that if it was moldy you don’t eat it. :D</p>
<p>usually, you have a couple day period after the expiration date when the food is still safe. but generally, i would warn against eating food past the expiration date.</p>
<p>How can this be a business ploy? These are perishable foods, anyone who thinks it is a ploy would have to be pretty nutty if you ask me.</p>
<p>I do if I do it unknowingly or if it’s only been a day but after that, I’ll just throw it out.</p>
