One of the topics I’ve chosen to write about for my essays is my experiences living in Canada for some time. Is it necessary for me to explain the cultural and social terms I will use that are specific to Canada? For example, a toonie is a $2 dollar coin. Do I need to sneak that fact in somewhere? Or can I assume they would understand the term, and skip the elaboration?
