<p>For those students who unfamiliar with some of the university’s rules–and may have had a few problems in a class or two during their time at the school, you may want to check out the university’s Extended-X policy, which allows you to replace certain grades if you retake the class.</p>

<p>It does not allow you to replace S, W, I or R grades–but the grade replacement rule used to apply only to classes taken during the first few semesters (up to when you had completed 45 units)–but after Spring 2010 it applies to all courses.</p>
